Rhodes University in Eastern Cape requested an HRE workshop and an orientation on ToT that was held on the 23rd – 24th of February. The workshop was a follow up request made by the AISA Rhodes group during the 2006 August AGM.  Transitional Director – Isaac Lappia and HRE Coordinator facilitated the workshop.

Target groups were learners and students from the University and surrounding schools. About 60 participants attended the workshop, the theme for day 1 was HRE and for day 2 was a basic facilitation skill. It was difficult at the beginning to merge the two due to time available for students as well and substantive content to be covered within two days.  There is a need for more support on capacity building for the group on facilitation skills.
