In early November, the International Secretariat invited Jabu Tugwana to London to participate in the International Education for Human Dignity (E4HD) Project workshop.
The objective of the Workshop was to bring together Human Rights educators from around the world to input into the development of the educational material for the E4HD project. This project is strategic to Amnesty International because it will be developing educational materials to engage youth that can later be used throughout the Demand Dignity Campaign and through the movement.
The project is a 3-year International Human Rights Education project funded by the European Commission (EC) aimed at raising awareness, informing debate and stimulating action to tackle the human rights abuses that drive and deepen poverty.
A key outcome of the workshop was the Draft Terms of Reference for the Project Working Group, to which AI South Africa was invited to participate. In addition, AI South Africa was selected as a global south partner to host an exchange visit for colleagues from AI Poland in early 2011.
